Travel As aregistered nurse•progressive care unit (RN PCU), you will helpcare for patients who need a moderate level of monitoring andassessment but whose conditions do not require the resources of theintensive care unit. In other words, it is an intermediary level ofhospital care. Telemetry units, intermediate care units, directobservation units, step-down units, or transitional care units aresometimes called progressive care units.
