Registered Nurse – Pediatric
JOB DETAILS
We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our summer camp team. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, providing immediate care for a range of injuries and illnesses, and supporting a vibrant camp community. As a Summer Camp Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing the health and safety of campers and staff, administering medications, and responding to emergencies.

Camp Pinecliffe in Harrison, Maine
Work Schedule:
Weekly Hours:
48.5 hours per week
Shifts:
o Two 7.5-hour shifts
o Two 10.5-hour shifts
o One overnight shift
Days Off:
Two days off each week to explore the area
Camp Infirmary Hours:
9:00 AM to 9:00 PM with breaks during meal times; after-hours duties for
emergencies only
Accommodation & Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:
On-Site Assessments:
Conduct evaluations of injuries and illnesses in a timely and professional manner
Medication Administration:
Dispense prescribed medications and maintain accurate records of all medications administered
Emergent Response:
Respond immediately to medical emergencies, including basic first aid, CPR, and transport to local clinics or emergency rooms when necessary
Supply Management:
Maintain inventory of medical supplies, order replacements, and ensure the infirmary is stocked with essential items
Health and Safety:
Monitor the health of campers and staff, including any pre-existing conditions or new medical concerns, and provide necessary care

Camp Season:
Arrive two weeks prior to the start of the camp to set up the infirmary, prepare medications, and organize medical supplies
Required Qualifications:
- Current RN (Registered Nurse) licensure in Maine, or Compact Status
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, staff, and parents
- Ability to adapt to the fast-paced, dynamic camp environment
- Must be comfortable handling emergencies and making quick decisions
- BLS certification (current)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in emergency care, pediatrics, or camp nursing
- Ability to maintain calm and professionalism in high-stress situations
- Organizational skills to manage medical supplies and records efficiently
Compensation:
- Paid twice per month
- On-site housing and meals provided
- Transportation Reimbursement to and from camp
- Camp vehicle for nurses’ personal use (dependent on passing a license and background check)
