Job Summary and Qualifications Floatpool nurses are in a unique position to make a difference. Movingfrom assignment to assignment, they support various units withinthe hospital. They have high-level critical thinking skills, vastclinical knowledge, and are able to stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities :
Under the general direction ofthe Director, Manager or Nurse Manager, Registered Nurse (RN)coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individualresponsibility and accountability for the provision of nursingcare. Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care is in accordancewith hospital policies and procedures, applicable state NursingPractice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice and the generic and unitstructure standards What qualifications you will need: BSNPreferred Current state of Missouri RN licensure required. If onlya multistate RN license is provided upon hire, a MO RN license willbe required within 90 days of employment. BLS certificationrequired at hire and maintained. ACLS required within 6 months NIHStroke Scale certification required within 90 days of hire andannually within the fiscal year. Shall document a minimum of eight(8) hours of cerebrovascular (stroke) related continuing nursingeducation per fiscal year. Shall be credentialed in trauma care(TNCC) within one 6 months of assignment documenting a minimum ofeight (8) hours of trauma related continuing nursing education peryear. 1-2 years of previous experience preferred. Prior experiencein a similar size facility with similar services provided ispreferred. Previous emergency, pre-hospital or critical carepreferred. Lee’s Summit Medical Center is an 80 bed full-servicehospital. We serve Lee’s Summit and surrounding areas. Our servicesare supported by more than 300 physicians who represent more than40 specialties. We have more than 500 highly trained colleagues and60 volunteers. Our services and specialties include cardiology,cancer care, endoscopy, emergency services, imaging, neurology,pain management, and pulmonology. We offer physical therapy,speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, sports medicine,respiratory care, women’s care, and an array of surgical services.
We have a dually-accredited Chest Pain and Primary Stroke Center.
