out of 5 stars Warrensburg, MO 64093 JOB PURPOSE Our Community RN plays a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals we serve. In this role, you’ll work closely with direct support professionals (DSPs), case managers, healthcare providers, and the Health Services Coordinator to oversee medical care, provide staff training, and ensure compliance with Missouri Department of Mental Health (MO DMH) regulations.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Health Management & Direct Care:
Conduct comprehensive health assessments for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Develop and implement individualized health care plans in collaboration with case managers and medical providers. Administer medications and treatments as needed. Monitor and document health conditions, vital signs, and changes in medical status. Provide emergency medical care and intervention as necessary.
Medication & Compliance Oversight:
Oversee medication administration programs and ensure compliance with MO DMH regulations. Train and delegate medication administration responsibilities to qualified staff (e.g., Level 1 Medication Aides). Conduct medication audits and documentation reviews to ensure accuracy. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and reports.
Training & Staff Development:
Provide training and guidance to direct support professionals (DSPs) on health-related topics, including: Recognizing and responding to medical emergencies Infection control and universal precautions Safe medication administration Special healthcare needs related to intellectual disabilities Serve as a medical resource for staff and families.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure compliance with MO DMH guidelines, state regulations, and healthcare best practices. Participate in MO DMH audits and inspections related to healthcare services. Advocate for best practices in healthcare for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Maintain up-to-date nursing documentation, incident reports, and medical charts. All other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri. 2 years of nursing experience preferred. Strong documentation and organizational skills. Ability to train and educate non-medical staff on health-related matters. Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to individuals with varying needs. Must be 18 years of age. Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and any subsequent background check after employment. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E chauffeur’s license within 14 days of hire. Successfully complete employment-related training as directed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods throughout the workday. Frequent movement between different program locations, client homes, or healthcare facilities. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds (e.g., assisting individuals with mobility, lifting medical equipment, repositioning clients). Assist individuals with transfers, positioning, or mobility devices. Ability to operate medical equipment, computer systems, and electronic health records (EHRs).
