Rehab RN in Bridgeton MO – $2175.00 PM Shift 36 hours 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Saint Charles, MO 63301 The Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (Rehab RN) plays a critical role in providing care for patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. The Rehab RN works closely with an interdisciplinary team to help patients regain mobility, strength, and independence while managing pain and preventing complications. This position requires strong critical-thinking skills, compassion, and the ability to provide patient-centered care that supports long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care based on rehabilitation goals. Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, hygiene, dressing, and eating. Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed. Provide education to patients and families on recovery processes, self-care, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Administer medications, perform wound care, and manage IV therapy as needed. Encourage patient participation in therapeutic activities to promote functional independence. Prevent complications such as pressure ulcers, infections, and contractures through proactive nursing care. Support and guide patients with cognitive impairments or neurological conditions such as strokes or spinal cord injuries. Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and best nursing practices.

Qualifications:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) License Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required). Minimum of two years of experience in rehabilitation nursing, medical-surgical nursing, or a related field (preferred). Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Work Environment:

Inpatient rehabilitation unit, acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, or outpatient rehab clinic. Requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, and assisting patients with mobility.
