Full-Time Key Responsibilities Triage and coordinate transfers, direct admissions, and consults for pediatric and maternal patients. Dispatch neonatal, pediatric, and maternal transport teams. Utilize online algorithms, standard work tools, and virtual platforms for decision-making and documentation. Communicate effectively with clinical teams and referring facilities. Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Requirements Experience:

Minimum 5 years of critical care nursing experience (neonatal or pediatric preferred).

Skills:

Strong triage, multitasking, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Technology:

Comfortable with virtual learning and online tools; proficiency in Word and Excel preferred.

Location:

Must be able to report to Cardinal Glennon within 1 hour in case of technical issues.

Job Summary:

Coordinates and facilitates patient admission according to patient acuity, bed availability, and required services.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborates with the nursing staff and multidisciplinary team members to place patient in appropriate level of care to achieve desired outcomes. Triage patients via use of virtual phone and gather intake information from various providers. Facilitates consults with specialty services as well as coordinating transfers and direct admissions. Reviews medical reports from referring hospitals or physician offices and relays information to nursing unit. Develops relationships with referral sources and admission decision makers. Dispatches neonatal, pediatric and maternal transport team. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing

EXPERIENCE

Three years’ critical care experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. Frequent keyboard use/data entry. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Rare climbing.
