Additional Information About the Role Our nursing staff providespre
- and post-operative care to the wide variety of interventionsneeded for peripheral vascular disease patients.
Surgical servicesinclude endoluminal and open repair of thoracic and abdominalaortic aneurysms, thoracic outlet decompression, carotid arteryangioplasty and stenting, carotid endarterectomies, dialysis access(fistulas and grafts), catheter-directed thrombolysis, and variousbypasses and stents for aorto-iliac and lower extremity occlusivedisease and upper extremity occlusive disease.

Division 7500/75PCU is a fast pacedCardiovascular Surgery division made up of 25 beds with a mix ofstep down and pcu beds. We care for a variety of complexcardiovascular surgery patients including aortic and abdominalaneurysms, thoracic outlet syndrome, carotid artery disease,aorto-iliac and lower extremity occlusive disease, peripheralvascular disease, arrhythmia surgery, endoscopic coronary arteryrevascularization, valve repair and many more. The Staff Nurse (RN)is an integral part of the patient care team using criticalthinking skills and clinical expertise to continually assess thepatients’; status. The Staff Nurse (RN) is trained in critical careand will be certified in
BLS, ACLS, ACUTE
CARE, arterial linemonitoring, and pacer wires. Preferred Qualifications Role PurposeProvides direct patient care activities including assessment,diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within theguidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities
- Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illnessor injury, including post treatment home care needs and medicationadministration.
- Participates in activities that promote patientsafety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates inprofessional development.
- Develops, implements, and documentsindividual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration withother members of the interprofessional team and patient, family orcaregiver in accordance with the established guidelines andstandards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensurescommunication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
- Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical,psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care,including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, andpopulation-specific needs.
