  • No weekends Overview Preferred QualificationsRole Purpose The nurse practitioner functions within their scope ofpractice as a healthcare provider, working within amultidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care topatients and families across practice settings.

They demonstrate ahigh degree of clinical expertise in working with patients withacute and chronic illnesses commonly encountered within theinpatient setting. The role demonstrates advanced clinicalknowledge, interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, andsystems-based practice. They work with staff, nurses, physicians,and medical/surgical trainees to assure safe, effective, qualitypatient care. The position requires coverage of evenings, nights,weekends, and/or holidays.   • Provides compassionate, appropriate, andeffective patient and family-centered care for health recovery,illness prevention, treatment of critically ill, or end-of-lifecare.
  • Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment,management, education, health promotion, and care coordination forpatients and families with acute and chronic health needs in anacademic inpatient setting.
  • Communicates and collaborateseffectively with patients, families, physicians, medical/surgicaltrainees, and other health professionals.
  • Demonstrates thehighest level of accountability for professional practice byparticipating in professional development, qualityinitiative/performance activities, and implementing standards ofcare within area of specialization.
