Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Heale Counseling Southaven, MS 38672 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients while promoting mental wellness in the community. Responsibilities Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients of all ages. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices. Provide medication management and monitor patient responses to treatments. Engage in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-treatment. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including case management teams, to coordinate care. Participate in emergency medicine situations as required, providing immediate care for acute mental health crises. Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and health coaching strategies. Stay informed about ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing processes. Experience A Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health is required. Previous experience in pediatrics or working with diverse populations is preferred. Knowledge of physiology related to mental health conditions is essential. Familiarity with case management practices and discharge planning processes is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are critical for success in this role.
