This Position is for a Continuing Education (CE) Coordinator for the School of Nursing & Health Professions Bryant Center at Tradition with a public university located in Biloxi, MS.
Job Description:
Directly responsible for the organization, coordination, and maintenance of non-credit continuing education certificate programs offered within the School of Nursing and Health Professions. The continuing education healthcare training programs include but are not limited to non-credit certified nursing assistant (CNA), phlebotomy, dental radiology, IV certification/recertification, CPR Training (BLS Provider, Heartsaver, and Instructor), dental assistant, pharmacy technician, healthcare unit coordinator, and TB Certification. The Continuing Education Coordinator position is a 12-month, Staff V position requiring a flexible schedule for its availability to faculty, students, and community partners. The Coordinator will report to the Continuing Education/Simulation Director.
Job Duties:
Assists the Healthcare Simulation and Workforce Director with the development and delivery of Continuing Education and non-credit healthcare classes and programs. Works with internal and external stakeholders in the planning and offering of existing and new Continuing Education and non-credit classes and programs. Works closely with internal and external college employees and stakeholders, including regulatory agencies according to laws and policies as they pertain to the programs offered. Coordinates and supervises all necessary course pre-registrations, registrations, payments, student evaluations, course information, and files and records. Communicates with Business Office support staff across the district coordinating, verifying, and maintaining the records of course and fee payments. Recommends qualified applicants for hire; completing the necessary documentation required on instructors, classroom access, books and supplies, and course approval sheets. Prepares periodic statistics, financial reports, and evaluation summaries. Prepares information to facilitate reporting and granting of licensures, certifications, and Continuing Education Units to the appropriate stakeholders and agencies. Assists in the coordination of bids and preparation of requisitions for purchase orders of equipment, materials, and supplies. Recruits and advises potential students. Prepares and submits reports for tracking and auditing purposes. Maintains digital database for direct mailings, electronic contact lists and follow-up contacts. Provides input toward the development, planning, and implementation of products, training, seminars, and services. Works with the Simulation Director, Clinical Coordinator, and the SON&HP staff in coordinating and promoting various programs. Performs other duties as assigned by the Simulation Center Director or the Associate Vice President for the School of Nursing and Health Professions.
Mandatory Qualifications:
(M1) Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Business or Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. (M2) A minimum of two years of office management experience or experience working in business and industry. (M3) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. (M4) Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable Qualifications:
(D1) Continuing Education or Workforce Training coordination experience. (D2) Community college and/or college level and/or military teaching experience. (D3) Experience with additional computer software applications, and testing procedures.
