ResponsibilitiesIntermediate Care Unit RNs (IMCU RNs) treat patients who aresuffering from serious conditions, such as diabetes mellitus,electrolyte imbalances, renal failure, liver failure,gastrointestinal bleeds, blood disorders, cancer, sepsis,respiratory distress or multi-system organ failure. IMCU RN jobresponsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assess eachpatient’s needs individually and collect relevant data, such astemperature, blood pressure, and pain levels, according to thefacility’s prescribed procedure Perform physician-prescribedtreatments and communicate effectively with patients, families, andphysicians, being an advocate for the patient Prepare equipment andassist physicians during examination and treatment of patients
