RN Wound Care Nurse 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 120 Veterans Dr, Oxford, MS 38655 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wound Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing with specialized knowledge in wound care management or a desire to learn. This role involves assessing, planning, and implementing care for patients with various types of wounds, ensuring adherence to established standards and protocols. The Wound Care Nurse will also play a key role in discharge planning and patient education, promoting optimal healing and recovery. Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ wounds and overall health status. Develop individualized care plans based on assessment findings and patient needs. Provide wound care treatments, including dressing changes, debridement, and infection control measures. Document all medical information accurately in compliance with medical documentation standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning. Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and overall health management. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and best practices in wound care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound management and patient outcomes. Requirements Current nursing license (RN ) with relevant experience in wound care preferred or a desire to learn. Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation practices. Knowledge of standards related to wound care management. Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams. Ability to work independently while managing multiple patient needs efficiently.
