Required Qualifications:
One year of recent experience as an ER RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC) Current PALS (AHA / ARC) or
ENPC Certification PreferredQualifications:
TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP and SANE certifications Other certifications or licenses may be required for thisposition
Summary:
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)delivers rapid-response, high-quality patient care in a fast-pacedemergency department setting. This role involves assessing patientconditions, implementing urgent care plans, administeringlife-saving treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinaryhealthcare teams to ensure high-quality, efficient,patient-centered care in critical situations. The ER RNdemonstrates strong clinical skills, exceptional critical thinkingabilities, excellent communication under pressure, and a commitmentto maintaining the highest standards of patient safety andprofessional ethics.
Essential Work Functions:
Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival prioritizingcare based on the severity of their condition Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients andfamilies Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordancewith approved emergency nursing techniques and protocols Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergencytreatments and examinations Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout their time in theemergency department, responding to immediate needs Observe and document patient conditions as required withinscope of practice Take and monitor vital signs using clinical judgment to addressdeviations and prevent complications Respond to life-saving situations based upon emergency nursingstandards, policies, procedures, and protocols Document comprehensive nursing assessments interventions, andoutcomes in electronic medical records (EMR) Initiate patient education plans according to individualizedneeds, considering the acute nature of emergency care Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams includingphysicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers and othersupport staff to ensure comprehensive care Perform other duties as assigned within the scope ofpractice Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection controlguidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonalcommunication skills The ability to read, write, & communicate in the Englishlanguage is required Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbalinstructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities
- Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending Interpersonal Skills
- To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills
- Ability to grasp, fine manipulation,pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements
