Job Summary :

n A PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) providesspecialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering fromsurgical procedures or anesthesia. The PACU RN is responsible formonitoring and assessing patients’ vital signs, ensuring theyrecover safely from anesthesia, managing pain, and monitoring forany complications to ensure optimal recovery outcomes. nn

KeyResponsibilities :

n n Assess and monitor patients’ post-anesthesia status, includingvital signs, level of consciousness, pain levels, and respiratoryfunction. n Administer medications, including pain management, anti-nausea,and other post-operative medications as prescribed. n Monitor patients for signs of complications such as respiratorydistress, bleeding, infections, and allergic reactions. n Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and otherhealthcare providers to develop and implement recovery plans.n Provide education to patients and families about post-operativecare, wound care, and pain management strategies. n Recognize and respond to signs of adverse reactions orcomplications, escalating care as necessary. n Manage and maintain accurate documentation of patient care,assessments, and outcomes in accordance with PACU standards.n Monitor and support the use of medical devices, such as oxygentherapy, IV lines, and pain management equipment. n Ensure infection control measures are followed to preventcomplications. n Advocate for patient safety and ensure appropriate pain controland comfort throughout the post-anesthesia recovery process.n Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamlesstransitions of care and prepare patients for discharge. n nn

Education :

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred;Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted. n

Licensure :

n n Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.n n n

Certification :

n n Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. n Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.n Certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) preferred. n n n

Experience :
