The specialized nurse often works with the elderly and others whoneed assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathingand dressing, and other duties, including recording vital signs andadministering medications. Due to the broad range of medicalconditions Long-Term care nurses will encounter, they must bewell-versed in a large variety of health conditions. Complete assignments made by physicians. Provide routine treatment. Assess changes in the patient’s health status and performvarious treatments. Administer medication. Meticulous documentation as to medication and treatmentadministration to ensure continuity of care between nursing staff,physicians, and other treatment team members.
