Triage Nurse 2.4 2.4 out of 5 stars 2510 Lakeland Drive, Flowood, MS 39232 GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Triage Nurse. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Position purpose Triage Nurse will be responsible for patient assessments, patient needs by responding to patients over the phone line. Collaborate with providers ensuring quality patient care in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks :
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Monitors, prioritizes, and responds to triage needs on the phone line. Responds to patient inquiries, prioritizing responses and routing urgent situations to a physician or a provider. Talks directly to patients on the telephone to schedule patients to their physician during office hours. Maintains accurate and detailed documentation and follows patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA and company policies and procedures. Arranges appointments for patients who need to see a physician. Consults with physician as needed. Delivers patient education, according to the individualized needs of the patient and as prescribed by the Provider and/or Group policy. Serve as a clinical resource and professional role model for other staff. Prioritizes work tasks and services and completes tasks in a timely manner. Maintains accurate, clear and concise progress notes, problem lists, and medication lists. Communicates respectfully with staff, consultants, and patients. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Qualifications Education:
Associates degree in nursing. Active and valid nursing license in good standing from the state the practice is located in.
Experience:
One (1) year triage experience preferred.
