Responsibilities:
Complete MDS documentation for Skin Condition (Section M) for all facility residents; Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing and other clinical education programs; Attend staff meetings, in-service classes and committee meetings; Participate in weekly wound team rounds; Act as a liaison between the Wound Specialist Physician and the nursing staff; Establishes competencies for clinicians regarding wound care; Collaborates with other members of the Education Department on joint educational initiatives; Collaborate amongst Interdisciplinary Team to encompass all aspects of care to promote wound healing; Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for each assigned resident; Participate in the development and achievement of Wound Care Program and objectives; Perform all other duties as requested; Communicate in a positive, caring, and helpful manner with residents, family members, and other staff; Develops educational modules for wound care to be used for internal and external education, including teaching tools for patients and families; Respect the dignity of each person; Works under the direction of the Director of Nursing on nursing education projects and initiatives related to skin, wound and ostomy management.
Requirements:
• Ability to work and stand 80% of an 8 to 12 hour shift; Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required; Excellent presentation skills and organizational skills required; WCC certification, CWCN, CWOCN or CWS is preferred Valid State RN License required Excellent time management skills; Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, stressful environment; Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills; Excellent communication skills; Confers with the Director of Nursing and/or other licensed nursing personnel regarding dermatologic disorders of residents in the facility.’ ‘Work Remotely •
