Doula 2.7 2.7 out of 5 stars Yazoo City, MS 39194 Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Doula to provide support and guidance to expectant mothers and their families throughout the pregnancy, labor, and postpartum periods. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as excellent patient assessment and service skills. As a Doula, you will play a vital role in ensuring that clients feel empowered, informed, and supported during one of the most significant times in their lives. Responsibilities Provide continuous emotional and physical support to clients during labor and delivery. Assist clients in creating birth plans that align with their preferences and values. Educate clients about the childbirth process, including pain management options and newborn care. Offer guidance on breathing techniques, including inhalation practices to promote relaxation. Facilitate communication between clients and healthcare providers to ensure all questions and concerns are addressed. Conduct patient assessments to monitor progress during labor and identify any potential issues. Support families in the postpartum period by providing resources for recovery and newborn care. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with clients. Requirements Certification as a Doula or relevant experience in maternal health is preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pregnancy and childbirth. Understanding of anatomy and physiology as it pertains to labor and delivery. Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to respond effectively to client needs. Exceptional patient service skills with a focus on empathy and support. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed. A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of maternal health.
