Job Summary And QualificationsTheAdult Oncology Nurse Navigator functions as a member of themultidisciplinary team and serves as an advocate and educator forcancer patients, from diagnosis through end of active treatment.

TheAdult Oncology Nurse Navigator’s primary function is to ensure thepatient remains compliant to the treatment plan. Navigators achievethis goal by building relationships with patients and physicians,coordinating the plan of care, assisting with appointments,transportation needs, education, resource provision and/orrepresentation within the multidisciplinary care environment. TheNavigator also assumes responsibility and accountability for themanagement of resources to achieve efficient, high-quality outcomesfor cancer patients, including support with interdisciplinary andcross-facililty coverage and collaboration.

The Navigator will serveas a liaison between the patient and family, all physiciansinvolved in that patient’s care, internal and external healthcareproviders, support network members, and the wider healthcarecommunity. This role will require collaboration with localphysician liaisons and leadership to conduct internal and externaloutreach and marketing.

What qualifications you will need:

Required Experience:

1+yrs of RN experience preferably within

Oncology Required Education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enroll ina BSN or advanced degree program and obtain a BSN within 5 years ofhire date into RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted betweendepartments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions, or extensions,may be approved by the facility CNO and reported out to the CNOCouncil members. Each facility will ensure tracking of exemptionsshould this information be needed. RNs with 10 years or more ofexperience are exempt.
