JobSummary and Qualifications The Nurse Extern delivers high quality,patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basicpatient care services related to common nursing functions andactivities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registerednurse (RN), the Nurse Extern assists the nursing staff in providingpatient care in accordance with the Nurse Extern’s skills/trainingand the needs of the Department, and consistently assists thepatient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, andsafe patient care environment. The Nurse Extern is currentlyenrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursingand can perform higher-level procedures once competency isachieved. The Nurse Extern may also be a graduate of an accreditedschool of nursing with a temporary Graduate Permit issued by theNCBON. The temporary permit is for North Carolina only (a singlestate license). The temporary Graduate Permit is time limited untilthe graduate can take the NCLEX and complete the fingerprintbackground check for full licensure.

What qualifications you willneed:

Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accreditedschool of nursing. 1 years of nursing school completed preferredTemporary Graduate Nurse Permit issued by NCBON if NCLEX delayed isrequired Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 daysof employment start date Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) must beobtained within 30 days of employment start date Mission Hospitalis located in Asheville, North Carolina.
