Job Summary and Qualifications The Nurse Extern delivershigh quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety ofdelegated basic patient care services related to common nursingfunctions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision ofthe registered nurse (RN), the Nurse Extern assists the nursingstaff in providing patient care in accordance with the NurseExtern’s skills/training and the needs of the Department, andconsistently assists the patient care team with maintaining aclean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The NurseExtern is currently enrolled and in good standing in an accreditedschool of nursing and can perform higher-level procedures oncecompetency is achieved.
