Qualifications:

Qualifications andrequirements Applicants should have a current VA (or Multi-state)RN license and possess a nursing degree from an accredited nursingschool (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

Additional requirementsinclude:

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support
• Experience in clinical area preferred
• American Heart AssociationACLS within 6 months of hire Department/Unit Summary 6A is a uniquedepartment with 36 physical beds.

24 of those beds are Telemetrybeds, staffed at a 1:6 nurse to patient ratio. We see patients withcomplaints of chest pain, arrhythmias, post-cardiaccatheterization, post-pacemaker or ICD implants, respiratorydistress, renal failure, surgical patients with significant cardiachistories, pulmonary embolism, and vascular interventions requiringhigh-risk anticoagulation management. The remaining 12 beds areProgressive Care, staffed at a 1:4 ratio. Those are patients postSTEMI in stable condition, respiratory failure on high leveloxygen, arrhythmia or blood pressure management with IV drips,diabetic ketoacidosis, post-operative patients requiring higherlevel monitoring, and general medical patients requiring higherlevel of monitoring. The blended unit concept is unique, andcreates a cohesive group of caregivers united behind a common goal.
