RequiredQualifications:

• One year of recent experience as an ER RN
• ValidRN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLScertification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current PALS (AHA / ARC) or

ENPC Certification PreferredQualifications:

• TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP and SANE certifications
• Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position

Summary:

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) deliversrapid-response, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergencydepartment setting. This role involves assessing patientconditions, implementing urgent care plans, administeringlife-saving treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinaryhealthcare teams to ensure high-quality, efficient,patient-centered care in critical situations. The ER RNdemonstrates strong clinical skills, exceptional critical thinkingabilities, excellent communication under pressure, and a commitmentto maintaining the highest standards of patient safety andprofessional ethics.

Essential Work Functions:

• Rapidly assess andtriage patients upon arrival prioritizing care based on theseverity of their condition
• Explain emergency procedures andtreatments to patients and families
• Administer prescribedmedications and treatments in accordance with approved emergencynursing techniques and protocols
• Prepare equipment and aidphysicians during emergency treatments and examinations
• Monitorpatient comfort and safety throughout their time in the emergencydepartment, responding to immediate needs
• Observe and documentpatient conditions as required within scope of practice
• Take andmonitor vital signs using clinical judgment to address deviationsand prevent complications
• Respond to life-saving situations basedupon emergency nursing standards, policies, procedures, andprotocols
• Document comprehensive nursing assessmentsinterventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR)
• Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs,considering the acute nature of emergency care
• Collaborateeffectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians,specialists, paramedics, social workers and other support staff toensure comprehensive care
• Perform other duties as assigned withinthe scope of practice
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols,infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

RequiredEssential Skills:

• The ability to read, write, &communicate in the English language is required
• Ability toread/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions,and proficiency in PC skills

• Remain in astationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs),pushing, pulling, bending

• To workeffectively with a variety of personnel (professional andancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
• Technical/Motor Skills
• Ability to grasp, fine manipulation,pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment.
• Mental Requirements
• Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the generalpublic, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must beable to work under close supervision occasionally as well asworking without assistance from other personnel. Must be able tocontend with irregular activity schedules occasionally andcontinuous concentration to detail
