  • at•Duke University Hospital•has 12beds that primarily has infants/young adult patients withcongenital heart disease, cardiac transplant and complex carepatients who are trach/ventilator dependent.

Nurse to patientstaffing ratio is 1:3.•

Work Schedule:
Full Time:

3, 12 hour shifts.7a/7p, 7p/7a, Day/Night rotating. 36 hours per week.

What you will do:

As a

  • Clinical Nurse I
  • in Duke University HealthSystem, you will plan and provide professional nursing care forpatients in accordance with the medical and nursing plans of careand established policies and procedures.

Provide nursing servicesto patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN asdefined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Plan, provide and document professional nursing care, utilizingthe nursing process, in accordance with physician orders andestablished policies and procedures under the supervision of theteam leader or charge nurse. Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensedand unlicensed care providers. Assist other healthcare personnel in the delivery of patientcare. Participate in maintaining the environment of care includingequipment and material resources. Prioritize work organization andidentify resources available to assist in completing components ofcare in a timely manner. Participate in own professional development by maintainingrequired competencies, identifying learning needs and seekingappropriate assistance or educational offerings. Support the development of other staff and formallearners. Participate in the identification of clinical or operationalperformance improvement opportunities and assist in performanceimprovement activities. Perform other related duties incidental to the work describedherein.

  • What you will need: Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (orhigher) OR Associate’s Degree in Nursing OR Nursing Diplomaprogram.

  • Licensure andCertification Required:
