Under the supervision ofthe Diagnostic Radiology Manager and/or Assistant ChiefTechnologist, performs a wide variety of technical and professionalduties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce quality CTimages as requested for subsequent interpretation by theradiologist. All duties are performed according to departmental andorganizational policies and procedures. To meet the staffing needs of the department,as necessary, CT staff may be assigned at any of the YNHH CTlocations, regardless of your regularly assigned work location.

High ReliabilityOrganization (HRO) and work practices as documented with noscanning errors. 1.1 Uses technical skill and knowledge ofcross-section anatomy to perform CT exams using appropriate imagingprotocols, independently and efficiently. . 2. Activelyparticipates in workflow activities in order to ensure the goals ofthe department are met and runs efficiently. 2.1 Assists CSA,schedulers, PFAS staff, physicians, secretaries, nursing, etc withscheduling, obtaining requisitions or pre-authorization, patientpreparation instructions, and other exam-related communications. 3.Performs quality and compassionate patient care in order to ensurepatient cooperation, safety and satisfaction. 3.1 Thoroughlyexplains the procedure and ensures patient physical and emotionalcomfort as observed by supervisor/manager or noted by patientcomments or surveys. 4. Performs various record keeping,communication and customer service functions in order to ensuregoals of the department are met and operations run efficiently. 4.1Relays pertinent information to radiologists or other technicalstaff to minimize errors due to lack of communication, especiallyduring change of shift, as noted by supervisor. 5. Operates CTscanners using age and dose appropriate protocols and relatedmedical equipment necessary to produce quality CT images fordiagnosis or treatment safely and efficiently. 5.1 Performs tubewarm up and calibrations daily and when prompted as described inthe department quality assurance program and documented by the CTscanner event log. 6. Participates in various teaching, learning,and research opportunities in order to further professionalknowledge and expertise or to assist in expanding the knowledge ofothers. 6.1 Is receptive to teaching CT technologists, studenttechnologists, radiology residents and fellows, as observed bysupervisor or input from staff or students. Qualifications

EDUCATION

Graduation from an A.M.A. approved Radiologic Technologyprogram. AS degree Preferred, BS degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

One(1) to three (3) years of CT, experience with routine imagingtechniques. Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry levelstandards of routine CT imaging.

LICENSURE RT

(R) certification bythe American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required.

CT certification required or 20 years of CT experience. ConnecticutState License required. CPR Certification preferred. SPECIAL SKILLSProficient in advanced CT imaging techniques, above averageknowledge of cross section anatomy, computer/Pacs applications, andgood organizational and communication / customer service skills.

PHYSICAL DEMAND
