Job Summary :

n A Neuro-Intensive Care Unit RegisteredNurse (Neuro ICU RN) provides specialized nursing care tocritically ill patients with severe neurological conditions, suchas traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), strokes, spinal cord injuries,and other life-threatening neurological disorders. The Neuro ICU RNfocuses on closely monitoring and managing patients with complexneurological conditions, ensuring timely interventions to optimizepatient outcomes. nn

Key Responsibilities :

n n Assess, plan, and provide critical care for patients withneurological disorders, including traumatic brain injury (TBI),stroke, spinal cord injury, and neurovascular conditions. n Monitor and evaluate patients’ neurological status using tools suchas the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), ICP monitoring, and neurologicexams to detect changes in neurological function. n Administer medications, IV therapies, and interventions specific toneurological conditions, including anti-seizure medications, painmanagement, and neuro-critical care medications. n Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, andother multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement careplans tailored to each patient’s needs. n Manage invasive monitoring devices such as ICP monitors,ventriculostomies, and arterial lines, ensuring their proper useand documentation. n Recognize and respond to life-threatening neurological emergencies,including increased intracranial pressure, seizures, andneurological decline. n Provide education and support to patients and families on managingneurological conditions, rehabilitation, and medication adherence.n Document neurological assessments, interventions, and patientoutcomes accurately in compliance with hospital policies andregulatory standards. n Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, ensuring effectivecommunication and care coordination with the neurocritical careteam. n nn

Qualifications :

Education :

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred;Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted. n

Licensure :

n n Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.n n n

Certification :

n n Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. n Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required. n Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) preferred. n n n Wellspring Nurse Source Job ID #30985982.
