Job Summary:

/n AProgressive Care Unit (PCU) Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) providesspecialized, advanced care to patients who are recovering fromcritical conditions but require close monitoring and frequentassessment. They care for patients who have been stabilized fromintensive care but still require higher levels of monitoring andmedical interventions, often managing complex medical conditionssuch as cardiac, respiratory, or neurological issues. /n/n

KeyResponsibilities:

/n /n

• Provide direct nursing care to patients inthe PCU Stepdown unit, including monitoring and managing complexmedical conditions such as post-surgical recovery, cardiacconditions, and respiratory distress. /n
• Assess patients’conditions, implement and evaluate individualized care plans, andadjust care as needed to meet patients’ evolving needs. /n
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions asprescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to medicalprotocols. /n
• Monitor patients for signs of deterioration andrespond quickly to medical emergencies, escalating care asnecessary. /n
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, andmultidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust treatment plans basedon patient needs. /n
• Educate patients and their families onmedical conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies,promoting patient independence and recovery. /n
• Document patientassessments, care provided, and responses to treatments inaccordance with established protocols and regulations. /n
• Participate in the care planning process, ensuring patients receiveoptimal care and achieve desired outcomes. /n
• Monitor vitalsigns, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure all clinicaldocumentation is completed and updated. /n
• Provide guidance andsupervision to other nursing staff, including Licensed PracticalNurses (LPNs) and Nursing Assistants (CNAs). /n
• Ensure adherenceto infection control protocols, safety regulations, and hospitalpolicies. /n
• Participate in continuous education, unit-basedquality improvement initiatives, and professional developmentactivities.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  Bachelor ofScience in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing(ADN) accepted. /n

• Licensure:

  /n /n

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN)license in the state of practice. /n /n /n

• Certification:

  /n /n

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. /n
• AdvancedCardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred for patients with cardiacconditions. /n /n /n
