Granville Health System is seeking an experienced CertifiedNurse Midwife (CNM) to provide comprehensive, patient-centered careto women, including gynecological exams, family planning services,preconception care, prenatal and postpartum care, and childbirthassistance. This role offers the opportunity to provide care withina supportive, rural community-based setting in Oxford, NC, located40 miles north of Raleigh.
The CNM will be responsible for managinga full spectrum of obstetric and gynecological care, includinglow-risk labor and delivery support, routine gynecological care,and reproductive health counseling. The CNM will work closely withthe healthcare team to ensure high-quality care that aligns withevidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Obstetric Care:
Conduct thorough initial obstetric exams, assessing for anypotential complications or pre-existing conditions that may impactpregnancy. Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporatingdiagnostic testing, lab interpretations, and treatment planstailored to each patient’s medical history. Provide ongoing prenatal care, including monitoring fetal heartrate (FHR), non-stress tests (NST), and cervical exams for laborassessment. Educate patients on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, andwellness. Support low-risk laboring patients through labor and delivery,ensuring a safe and positive childbirth experience, and providingcontinuous care during the postpartum period.
Gynecological Care:
Provide routine gynecological services, including well-womanexams, pap smears, and screenings for sexually transmittedinfections (STIs). Offer counseling and management for all methods of familyplanning, as well as reproductive life planning. Treat common gynecological conditions such as menopause,perimenopause, pelvic pain, and postmenopausal bleeding. Provide postoperative care and follow-up visits forgynecological surgeries.
Patient Education and Support:
Offer counseling and education on contraception, sexual health,menopause, and overall reproductive well-being. Promote preventive care and wellness strategies, emphasizinglifestyle modifications and health screenings.
Collaboration andCoordination:
Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and otherhealthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinatedcare for patients. Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in accordancewith Granville Health System’s policies andprocedures.
Qualifications:
Certification:
AMCB Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
Education:
Graduate of a nurse-midwifery education programaccredited by the ACNM Accreditation Commission for MidwiferyEducation (ACME).
Degree:
Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN/MS).
Licensure:
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN)license in the state of North Carolina.
Certifications:
CPR and NALS certification required.
DEA License:
Current unrestricted DEA license or ability toobtain.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of full-time experience as aCNM preferred; Labor & Delivery experience is alsopreferred.
