Murdoch nurses work as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team with physicians, psychologists, pharmacists, psychiatrists, and social workers to name just a few. Nurses gain professional fulfillment through the provision of evidence-based nursing practice with a person-centered approach Murdoch is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse located in the Alpine. Alpine Cottage serves an adult population. Typically, people served in this area are non-ambulatory, non-mobile with severe/profound intellectual/developmental disabilities requiring 24-hour-a-day licensed nursing care. Emphasis throughout the day is placed on gross motor activities, basic self-help skills, increased communication skills, and health care needs. Medical concerns include seizure disorders, gastrointestinal problems, neurogenic bladders, and chronic respiratory issues. The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional nursing care to clients in assigned units. This RN provides evaluation, assessment, and assures coordination and implementation of care delivery to assigned caseload. Professional supervision is provided for LPNs and the unlicensed staff as indicated. Acts as charge nurse in absence of Nurse Supervisor with responsibility for daily operational routine on assigned shift. Provides advanced clinical services and consultation as necessary/assigned including medication/treatment administration, physician/professional contacts, identification and care planning for health needs, and emergency care for medical and behavioral emergencies. This is a full time position and eligible for the full state benefits package including Health Insurance, paid sick/vacation/holidays,retorement, etc.
Scheduled work hours/shift options:
OPTION #1: 6:30am
- 7:00pm Friday/ Saturday/Sunday (36hr-one week) & 6:30am
- 7:00pm, Friday/Saturday/Sunday AND 6:30am-3pm on Monday (44-hour week), rotating every other weekend
