This position involves providing direct and indirect patient care through the application of the nursing process, encompassing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role emphasizes meeting the physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural needs of patients and their families, and effective communication with the healthcare team regarding patient conditions and treatment responses. The role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing direct patient care. Providing indirect patient care. Utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Addressing the physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural, and educational needs of patients and their families. Communicating effectively with all members of the healthcare team regarding patient condition changes or responses to treatment. Demonstrating critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
Requirements:
Minimum Education:
Successful completion of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school is required.
Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to perform effectively in a demanding environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications/Licenses:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months of employment. A current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse (RN) license is required upon hire. Handle with Care (HWC) training is required within 90 days of hire.
Minimum Work Experience:
This is a new graduate Registered Nurse position.
