Travel Asan Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN), you will play a crucialrole in the surgical team, providing direct patient care before,during, and after surgical procedures. You will collaborate closelywith surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and otherhealthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective surgicaloutcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Preoperative Preparation:
Assesspatients’ medical histories and current conditions to developindividualized preoperative care plans. Verify surgical consent,review medications, and prepare patients physically and emotionallyfor surgery.
Intraoperative Nursing Care:
Assist in preparing theoperating room (OR) environment, ensuring sterile conditions andproper functioning of surgical equipment. Collaborate with surgicalteam members to position patients, monitor vital signs, and assistwith anesthesia induction and maintenance.
Surgical Assistance andInstrumentation:
Anticipate surgeons’ needs during procedures,passing instruments, sutures, and supplies as required. Maintainsterile technique and adhere to aseptic practices throughout thesurgical process.
Patient Advocacy and Safety:
Advocate for patientsafety and comfort throughout the surgical experience, addressingconcerns and ensuring adherence to surgical protocols. Monitorpatients’ responses to surgical interventions, anticipatingpotential complications and intervening promptly as needed.
Postoperative Care and Monitoring:
Transfer patients topost-anesthesia care units (PACUs) or recovery rooms, monitoringtheir vital signs and postoperative status. Assess surgicalincisions, apply dressings, and manage drainage devices whileensuring patient comfort and pain management.
Documentation andCommunication:
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation ofintraoperative events, patient responses, and medicationsadministered. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members,providing updates on surgical progress and postoperative outcomes.
Continuing Education and Professional Development:
Stay currentwith advancements in surgical techniques, equipment, and nursingpractices through continuing education and professional developmentactivities. Participate in quality improvement initiatives andsurgical team debriefings to enhance patient care outcomes. MagnetMedical Job ID .
