Job Summary andQualifications The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures anddelivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination ofall functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.

In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNCdirects, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance withestablished policies/procedures, serves as a resource person forstaff, and models a commitment to the organization’svision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experienceand clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmentalperformance. What you will do in this role:

  • Assists withadmission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughputand high quality, patient-centered care.
  • Participates in theongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services providedin the unit, in collaboration with other members of the managementteam.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managersto create an environment of teamwork that supports improvedoutcomes and service.
  • Supports a patient-first philosophy andengages in service recovery when necessary.
  • Supports the effortsof the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing currentnursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, andother initiatives.
  • Provides recommendations related tointerviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommends andimplements courses of action, including training and development,conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion ofperformance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure acompetitively better organization.
  • Assists with staff scheduling.

Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance withpatient care needs and established productivity guidelines.

  • Supports proper inventory control and assists with managingsupplies and equipment.

RequiredEducation:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Effective 6/24/2021 (NCDivision): Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enroll in a BSN oradvanced degree program and obtain a BSN within 5 years of hiredate into RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted betweendepartments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions, or extensions,may be approved by the facility CNO and reported out to the CNOCouncil members. Each facility will ensure tracking of exemptionsshould this information be needed. RNs with 10 years or more ofexperience are exempt.

  • Required License:

    Currently licensed as aregistered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/orhas an active compact license, in accordance with law andregulation. Must have and maintain current licensure as registerednurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (EnhancedNurse Licensure Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirmwith NCBON.
