Summary:
The Nursing Unit Educator is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while simultaneously fostering a positive learning environment for nursing staff. This dual role involves direct patient care as well as the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the unit team.
Responsibilities:
Direct Patient Care:
Provide comprehensive and compassionate care to patients, following best practice guidelines and protocols. Direct patient care responsibilities should encompass an average of 24 hours per week/48 hours per pay period.
Educational Duties:
Develop and deliver educational initiatives, including orientation, continuing education, and competency assessments for nursing staff.
Clinical Leadership:
Serve as a clinical expert and resource for staff, ensuring high standards of nursing practice.
Collaboration:
Work closely with clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to identify and address learning needs and improve patient outcomes.
Mentorship:
Guide and support nursing staff in their professional development through coaching and feedback.
Other information:
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or equivalent experience and approved education required; Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) or education preferred.
Licensure :
Current RN license in NC.
Experience :
Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience required; previous experience in nursing education preferred.
Certifications :
Relevant certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS) and specialty national nursing certification for area as identified preferred. About Us At Pardee UNC Health Care, we lead with the heart.
