Summary:
Working in collaboration with the Medical Director, the Occupational Health Nurse will provide occupational health services and medical treatment for non-occupational and occupational health illnesses and injuries. In addition, this role oversee on-site clinical activities, coordinate of health-related services for client-employers, and perform day-to-day management of clinic operations for business and industry services.
Responsibilities:
Provides clinical care in the clinic, on-site and at occupational locations. Obtains and documents vital signs and patient information, including but not limited to: weight, temperature, blood pressure, allergies, current medications, and immunization information. Conducts venipuncture and injections as required. Drives increased health outcomes including reducing population health risks, managing and eliminating workplace health risks and supporting improved business outcomes through advancing employee health and well-being. Evaluates and administers comprehensive occupational health programs, services and capabilities. Provides oversight for occupational health technicians and offer guidance on completion of occupational health-related tasks. Communicates with injured employees and health insurance claims representatives regarding the management of employee’s injury/illness. Assists employee patients in problem solving and providing referrals to outside agencies for assistance. In collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, reviews and evaluates data regarding safety, environmental and industrial hygiene related consultation visits, risk assessment surveys of organizations, facilities and work areas to determine the need for expanded occupational health services PARDEE Other information: Qualifications Hired candidates will be expected to obtain a range of certifications with the assistance of Pardee clinical education and leadership staff, though these certifications are beneficial and preferable to have been obtained prior to hire.
These certifications include:
Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) certification, Department of Transportation (DOT) approved urine drug screen technician, Breath alcohol tester / trainer, audiometry and spirometry testing. CPR Instructor training preferred. OSHA 10 certification preferred. Required Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina or one of compact states. Three (3) years of experience working in an RN role Experience or training with work-related injuries, worker’s compensation law, and insurance claim management. Excellent verbal and written communication. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Preferred Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) Experience in ISO/DNV regulatory policies and protocols Occupational health and adjacent certifications as noted above 01.5565.9409
