Job Summary:
- As a Clinical Nurse with Duke UniversityHealth System, you will make providing service your priority whilecaring for the whole person in a patient-centered atmosphere.
TheClinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and supervisingdirect and indirect total nursing care responsibilities. Utilizingthe nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, andevaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. Planand provide advanced and/or specialized nursing care for patientsguided by DUHS Professional Practice model participate in theclinical ladder program, educational activities, departmentalcommittees, research projects or other health related projects asassigned. Provide nursing services to patients and families inaccordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the NorthCarolina Board of Nursing. Adheres to all rules and regulations ofall applicable local, state and federal agencies and accreditingbodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service andaccepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that areequally respectful to all.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, andExperience Required:
- Previous work experience (1+years) as a clinical nurse is required for CNII’s.
- -Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (orhigher), Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma programis required.
All registered nurses without a Bachelor’s degree inNursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriateBSN program within two years of their start date and to completethe program within five years of their start date

Licensure,Certification or Registration Required:
- Currentregistration with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing as aregistered professional nurse OR current compact RN licensure topractice in the state of North Carolina required.
- BLS (orhigher) certification required.
- Professional specialtycertification (preferred).
