Department Profile:

- at•Duke RegionalHospital•is comprised of an•18-bed Level IIB nursery servingnewborns greater than 32 weeks gestation.
Our team is active indelivering exemplary care for each patient to ensure an excellentpatient experience, every time.
- The unit provides care for morethan 400 infants each year. The multidisciplinary team activelyparticipates in providing additional support for the infant that ismoderately ill
- -Provides mechanical ventilation and/or CPAPfor a brief duration
- -Provides care for feeders and growers and those thatrequire convalescent care.
- -Stabilizes infants less than 32 weeks until the infant canbe transferred to Duke University Hospital.
- -Ideal candidateswill be able to function as a part of a large multidisciplinaryteam in a shared governance environment, and have a passion fordevelopmental and family centered care.

Job Summary:
As a Clinical Nurse with Duke University Health System, you willmake providing service your priority while caring for the wholeperson in a patient-centered atmosphere. The Clinical Nurse (RN) isresponsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect totalnursing care responsibilities. Utilizing the nursing process(assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving thegoals of the nursing department. Plan and provide advanced and/orspecialized nursing care for patients in guided by DUHSProfessional Practice model participate in the clinical ladderprogram, educational activities, departmental committees, researchprojects or other health related projects as assigned. Providenursing services to patients and families in accordance with thescope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Adheres to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, stateand federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participatesin outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility inmaintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all•
Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (orhigher), Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma programis required. Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required.
All registerednurses without a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or higher) will berequired to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two yearsof their start date and to complete the program within five yearsof their start date

Licensure, Certification or Registration Required:
Current registration with North Carolina State Board of Nursingas a registered professional nurse OR current compact RN licensureto practice in the state of North Carolina required. BLS (or higher) certification required. Professional specialty certification (preferred)
