- As a Clinical Nurse with Duke University HealthSystem, you will make providing service your priority while caringfor the whole person in a patient-centered atmosphere.
The ClinicalNurse (RN) is responsible for providing and supervising direct andindirect total nursing care responsibilities. Utilizing the nursingprocess (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) inachieving the goals of the nursing department. Plan and provideadvanced and/or specialized nursing care for patients in guided byDUHS Professional Practice model participate in the clinical ladderprogram, educational activities, departmental committees, researchprojects or other health related projects as assigned. Providenursing services to patients and families in accordance with thescope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Adheres to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, stateand federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participatesin outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility inmaintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

- Clinical Nurse will plan, provide, supervise anddocument professional nursing care utilizing the nursing processfor patients in accordance with physician orders and establishedpolicies and procedures.
Use professional nursing judgment toindividualize the plan of care based on assessment of the patient’sbaseline needs and response to care. Delegate tasks and supervisethe activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care andact as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or anentire unit as assigned. Monitor and initiate corrective action tomaintain the environment of care including equipment and materialresources. Participate in own professional development bymaintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs andseeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings. Act aspreceptor and support the development of other staff and formallearners. Participate in the identification of clinical oroperational performance improvement opportunities and inperformance improvement activities .Perform other related dutiesincident al to the work described herein.
