K-12 Campus (Elementary and High School Buildings) Reports to: Executive Director Position Overview Eno River Academy seeks a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN preferred) to serve as our full-time School Nurse , supporting the health and well-being of all students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The School Nurse will provide direct care, promote health education, manage chronic health conditions, coordinate telehealth services, and collaborate with families, staff, and healthcare providers to foster a safe and healthy school environment. Key ResponsibilitiesDirect Student Care Provide basic healthcare and first aid to students and staff for minor injuries and illnesses. Assess and respond to health concerns and emergencies following professional standards and school protocols. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and parental consent. Support students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, epilepsy) through care planning and daily monitoring. Health Coordination & Communication Maintain accurate and confidential student health records, including immunizations, screenings, and medication logs. Ensure medications and medical action plans on file are current and accessible. Collaborate with families, teachers, and medical providers to ensure comprehensive student health care. Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community health resources. Health Promotion & Education Educate students on healthy habits, hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention. Provide staff training on student health plans, emergency procedures, and administration of medications. Lead wellness initiatives aligned with school health policies. Screenings & Public Health Responsibilities Conduct state-required health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) and report findings as needed. Monitor communicable diseases and manage infection control procedures on campus. Participate in the development and implementation of school health policies and emergency response plans. Campus-Wide Presence Provide care and support across both school buildings (K-8 and 9-12) with a flexible, responsive schedule. Participate in multidisciplinary teams including IEP, 504, and MTSS meetings as needed to support students with medical needs. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, school nursing experience preferred. Current CPR and First Aid certification required. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a school setting with children, families, and staff. Work Schedule and Compensation Full-time, 10-month position aligned with the school calendar. Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
