Certification Details BLS Texas RN License Job Details The Registered Nurse (RN) plans and provides comprehensive nursingcare including executing Licensed Independent Provider’s orders,dispensing and administering medications, and assisting LicensedIndependent Provider in examinations and treatment of patients. Applies nursing and supervisory techniques required in the care,treatment and referrals of inmates/residents. Performs all technical/clinical procedures within the scope ofhis/her education and licensure. Job Requirements Valid Texas RN license required. BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Schedule Information -54-week contract with rotating shifts. Unit Specific Information – Nursing care provided in a correctional setting. Additional Details Monitor inmate/resident inpatient hospitalizations for earlyreleases whenever appropriate. Maintain a good working relationship with facility staff, nursingstaff, contract providers and outside provider agencies. Comply with all applicable pharmacy laws, especially those coveringcontrolled substances.
