Triage patient phone calls 5. Complete priorauthorizations 6. Provide patient education on IV chemotherapy andoral chemotherapy 7. Be a part of the appeals process 8. Coordinateblood transfusions 9. Phlebotomy coverage 10. Care coordination totransfer patients to outside facilities, when necessary $5,000 signon bonus added to FIRST paycheck for qualified hires!

Job Summary:

Performs the primary functions of a registered nurse in assessing,diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of allassigned patients.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES

Supports the care of the patient and assesses andaddresses the needs of the patient/family. Works collaborativelywith other interprofessional team members in resolvingpatient/family problems, concerns and issues. Collaborates withother departments as needed to establish the patient/familytreatment plan. Individualizes, implements, evaluates or updatesthe plan of care and patient educational needs regarding vascularaccess. Possesses the ability to complete intravenous insertion andassessment to include peripheral and central line access. Utilizesequipment such as point of care ultrasound equipment andintravenous infusion pumps as appropriate. Demonstrates properinterpretation of department specific policies and relatedlaboratory results to safely manage specific patient needs.

Implements, monitors and records patient care and communicatespatient condition as appropriate. Takes appropriate actions tounanticipated changes in patient condition. Utilizes the ElectronicHealth Record (EHR) to access treatment and therapy plans. Appliesthe existing body of evidence-based practice and scientificknowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursingcare is delivered based on patient’s age-specific needs andclinical needs as described in the department’s scope of service.

Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performsother duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Graduate of accredited schoolof nursing or education equivalency for licensing

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Constant use of speech toshare information through oral communication. Constant standing andwalking. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objectsweighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/dataentry. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distancesnear (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identifyand distinguish colors. Frequent use of smell to detect/recognizeodors. Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication,distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioningmachinery, etc. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pullingobjects weighing 25-50 lbs. Occasional lifting/moving of patients.

Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting,gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Occasionaldriving. Rare crawling and running.
