Job Summary and QualificationsThe Registered Nursecoordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care inaccordance with the nature and specific requirements of thedepartment, and consistent with the scope and standards of practicefor the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medicalproviders and other members of the care team, the RN providesindividualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care usingestablished nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, andManage. The RN serves as an advocate forpatients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to theorganizations vision/mission/values to support an unparalleledpatient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overalldepartmental performance. Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective painmanagement, including reassessments after appropriateintervention. Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as orderedby the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care inthe patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patientrequests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve themproactively. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medicalcondition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possibleside effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medicalterminology to ensure complete understanding. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinalfollow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, diseaseprevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients andfamilies/caregivers for future self-management.

What qualificationsyou will need: Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour must be obtained within 1 yearof employment start date NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employmentstart date Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 daysof employment start date Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year ofemployment start date (RN) Registered Nurse Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor, or BachelorsDegree must be obtained within 90 days of employment startdate Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtainedwithin 30 days of employment start date PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must beobtained within 90 days of employment start dateMission Hospital islocated in Asheville, North Carolina.
