Essential Functions Completes initial and ongoing assessments. Assessments includephysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care abilities,educational, age appropriate, cultural and discharge planningneeds. Performs plan of care intervention, including medicationadministration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as wellas other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living,including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, andambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patientcare, including patient transfer, discharge, referral andspiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and providespatient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition,and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being ofthe patient. Employee supervises others. Assists with orientation and training of others as directed.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing required Bachelor’s Degree in
Nursingpreferred Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and theability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in astressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required Handle with care within 3 months of hire
Licenses:
Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state(compact) license).
Minimum Work Experience:
