We have an immediate need for a Substitute School Nurse to manage health services for the Middle High School on a temporary basis, possibly through the remainder of the school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Liaison between the physicians, school, community, and families in improving the health needs of students.
- Assessment, planning, evaluation, management and referral activities for students.
- Direct care to students in compliance with school district policies, professional standards of practice, physician’s orders, and Individual Health Plans.
- Adhere to the NH Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses, and the school district’s policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement Individual Health Plans.
- Health screenings, physical examinations, and immunization programs at school.
- Student safety and child protection program.
- Uphold regulations and laws related to confidentiality, reporting of child abuse and neglect, and other health-related requirements.
- First aid and emergency care for illnesses and injuries incurred during school activities.
- Resource for health education for students and staff.
- Assist in the Health Curriculum development.
- Maintain accurate health records for students and reports to the state and other agencies.
- Assist in the health services budget preparation.
- Report and recommend changes for safety hazards and sanitary conditions in the school.
- Maintain professional competencies through in-service educational activities and professional growth programs.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to the emotional and mental health needs of students.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
