UMass Memorial Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Cardiac Catheterization Lab team. This APP will play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The schedule for this position consists of four 10-hour weekday shifts (7am to 5pm). No weekends or holidays required.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-procedure evaluations through phone interviews, including comprehensive history taking, medication reconciliation, and patient education. Perform detailed chart reviews to assess patient readiness and identify clinical concerns prior to cardiac catheterization procedures. Collaborate closely with interventional cardiologists, nursing staff, and procedural teams to optimize patient care and procedural planning. Provide vascular access (arterial and/or venous) for patients undergoing procedures in the CATH lab, in accordance with scope of practice and institutional protocols. Document all assessments, interventions, and communications in the Epic electronic medical record system. Participate quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education to support best practices in cardiovascular care. Assist with post-procedure care coordination.
Qualifications:
Masters degree Graduate of approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with certification. BLS and ACLS certification required. Experience in cardiology, particularly in the Cath lab, critical care or procedural medicine preferred. Proficiency in vascular access techniques strongly preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Experience with Epic EMR is a plus. Top Tier Benefits to
