Required Qualifications:

One year’s recentexperience as an Interventional Radiology RN Valid RN license incompliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ ARC)

Certification Preferred Qualifications:

PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPCCertifications ACLS (AHA/ARC) Certification

RCIS/RCES

CertificationOther certifications or licenses may be required for this position

Summary:

The Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse providesspecialized nursing care to patients undergoing minimally invasiveprocedures in the IR lab. This role involves pre-procedureassessment, intra-procedure monitoring, sedation administration,and post-procedure recovery management. The IR Nurse works closelywith radiologists, technologists, and other healthcareprofessionals to ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimalprocedural outcomes.

Essential Work Functions:

Performcomprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including reviewingmedical history and lab results Educate patients and families aboutIR procedures, sedation, and post-procedure care Administer andmonitor moderate sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safetyMonitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and oxygenation levelsduring procedures Assist physicians during procedures, ensuringproper positioning, sterile technique, and instrument handlingRecognize and respond to complications, escalating care whennecessary Provide post-procedure monitoring and recovery care,including pain management and patient discharge education Maintainaccurate documentation of patient assessments, medications, andprocedural details Collaborate with IR technologists, radiologists,and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated careAdhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines,and regulatory standards Perform other duties as assigned withinthe scope of practice

Required Essential Skills:

Critical thinking,service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills Theability to read, write, & communicate in the English language isrequired Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, followverbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills PhysicalAbilities
