The Fitch unit is a 45 bed, Acute Care Medical Unit, withapproximately 120 employees.
- The average patient census is 40patients and specialties focusing on sepsis, respiratory, diabetes,GI, oncology, end of life, and some surgical.
- The Fitch unitprovides an outstanding supportive environment and advancedtraining for its staff.
- The unit also offers a relaxation roomfor its employees to decompress and relief stress.
- The nursingstaff is supported by a charge RN and team lead, whose focus is tomake this the best place to give and receive care.

Job:
The GPU RN delivers care for patients with psychiatric conditionsbased on the physical ability, intellectual development,psychosocial, education and safety needs of the geriatric patient.
This role works closely with a multidisciplinary treatment teammodel within a collaborative and supportive environment. Practicesin a manner consistent with the Elliot Hospital InterprofessionalPractice model; the ANA’s Social Policy Statement, Scope andStandards of Practice, and the Nursing Code of Ethics; and relevantspecialty standards of practice.
What You’ll Do:
Provide care to patients with complex psychiatric and medicalneeds Create and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patientsand families Embraces and promotes change to support optimal patient outcomesand an effective professional practice environment. Involves patient/family in goal setting and planning, andcommunicates that plan of care to patient and family for input; andto colleagues to ensure seamless care across shifts andsettings. Utilizes current evidence and relevant national/specialty standardsto guide practice and/or performance and identifies areas forimprovement. Demonstrates competent clinical practice utilizing clinicaldecision making and critical thinking skills.
Who You Are:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ASN or BSN
