Who We Are:
The Emergency Department of SNHMC provides culturally competentcare to the diverse population of Southern New Hampshire with a30-bed, critical care unit. In addition to supporting the communityas a Level III Trauma Center, and Primary Accredited StrokeFacility, the ED has taken proactive steps to provide safe care toour psychiatric population through the implementation of a 6-bedsecured intradepartmental unit. With increased patient volumes andhigher acuity, the ED is prepared to accommodate additionalpatients through utilization of hallway beds and a triagefast-track area. We support and take pride in providing numerouseducational opportunities for our staff to pursue boardcertifications and higher education in addition to the advancedtechnical skills they provide, such as ultrasound guided IVplacement and arterial IV line management. Our robust staff ofnurses, paramedics, LNAs and Health Unit Coordinators work 12-hourshifts around the clock to provide a continuous higher level ofcare to our community About the
Job:
As a member of the PatientCare Services team, the Emergency Services (ES) Registered Nursecares for pediatric and adult patients presenting with a variety ofillnesses, injuries or trauma. The ES RN specializes in assessing,intervening and stabilizing patients in situations that requirecritical clinical decision-making skills. The registered nursesuccessfully completes a competency based orientation program tobecome proficient in serving the Emergency Services patientpopulation.
What You’ll Do:
- Assess and implements priority-basednursing care and establish goals to meet the patient’s needs.
- Integrate patient values, best practice, and evidence into patientcare.
- Engage patients and/or families in the care delivery.
- Function competently within own scope of practice.
- Utilize acommunication style/practice to meet the needs of the team and/orthe situation.
- Delegate care activities to patient care team.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to provide the patient withcomprehensive care.
Who You Are:
- Graduate from an accreditedschool of nursing (ASN or BSN)
- Registered Nurse, licensed in thestate of NH
- Recent ED experience as a Registered Nurse required
- minimum 1 year
- Ability to achieve the following competencies:
- Within 30 days: Basic Life Support
- Within 90 days: IntravenousTherapy, Acute Stroke Management
- Within 180 days: AdvancedCardiac Life Support, Basic Rhythm Interpretation, Management ofCritical Care Medications and Infusions, Procedural Sedation &Analgesia
- Within 1 year: Pediatric Advanced Life Support orEmergency Nurse Pediatric Certification
- Within 2 years: TraumaNurse Certification Course, Triage Nurse
