About the

Job:

The CertifiedOncology Infusion Registered Nurse provides holistic patient careto high risk, complex acutely and chronically ill oncology andhematology patients in the outpatient setting.

What You’ll Do:
  • Utilizing the nursing process, provides holistic patient-centeredcare across the cancer care continuum, employing multiple treatmentmodalities, to include assessment, planning, care coordination withthe interdisciplinary oncology team, implementation and evaluation
  • Applies evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, symptommanagement tools, standards and protocols in patient evaluation andcare.
  • Initiates and maintains venous access devices, adhering toevidence based intravenous device guidelines.
  • Demonstratesadvanced knowledge of oncologic treatment modalities; administersChemotherapy, Biotherapy, intravenous and other medications,vaccines and treatments as prescribed, adhering to currentChemotherapy Administration Safety Standards.
  • Identifies andmanages oncologic emergencies according to evidence-based practiceguidelines.
  • Assists provider(s) with examinations, diagnosticprocedures, and treatments as needed.
  • Thoroughly and accuratelydocuments all patient care activities, assessment, interventions,and patient/family communication.
  • Identifies patient accessbarriers and potential solutions to provide quality care to thepatient with cancer and identifies resources available to peoplewith cancer and their caregivers.
  • Stays abreast of ongoingchanges related to EPIC integration and developing /growingSolution Health integrated initiatives as needed.
  • Attends ongoingeducational programs as required to maintain licensure andcertifications, and as assigned by the Director of Nursing, NurseManager or Practice manager, including annual competencies inTelephone Triage and Clinical Skills Day.
  • Maintains all requiredlicensures and certifications (RN, BLS) as well as currentChemotherapy/Biotherapy card and ONCC Oncology Certification (OCN)
  • Ensures that all consults, testing, patient education andprocedures are completed in a timely manner.

Who You Are /

Requirements:
  • Associates of Science in Nursing (or Equivalent)from an accredited institution required. Bachelor of Science inNursing from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • RegisteredNurse with current NH or compact state license
Certifications:

Current BLS/CPR training: ONCC Oncology Certification (OCN) CurrentONS Chemo/Biotherapy Card.

  • 3-4 years of professional nursingexperience with 1-2 years of oncology nursing experience.
