Who We Are:
Elliot Hospital’s Women’s and Children’s Services are dedicated toaddressing the specific health and wellness needs of women andtheir children. The Elliot NICU is the only Level III NewbornIntensive Care Unit in southern New Hampshire, taking care ofbabies 24 weeks in gestation to term who are critically ill usinghigh-tech resources and a team of dedicated professionalsspecializing in premature infant care. Our state-of-the-artfacility houses 26-beds (isolettes), where we treat more than 400critically ill and premature infants each year. About the
Job:
The Registered Nurse on NICU performs total body cooling, nitricoxide administration, close observation, attention, andintervention for the very unique needs of each patient. NICU nurseshave extensive training and experience in the care of sicknewborns. They will care for baby 24 hours a day. Nurses are thefirst person to ask if there are concerns or questions about ababy’s care and they will help educate families in becoming moreinvolved.

Embraces and promotes change to support optimal patient outcomesand an effective professional practice environment. Involves patient/family in goal setting and planning, andcommunicates that plan of care to patient and family for input; andto colleagues to ensure seamless care across shifts andsettings. Utilizes current evidence and relevant national/specialty standardsto guide practice and/or performance and identifies areas forimprovement. Demonstrates competent clinical practice utilizing clinicaldecision making and critical thinking skills.
Who You Are:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ASN or BSN•BSNpreferred) Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate licensure asRegistered Nurse required Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period andmaintain during employment•ACLS preferred
