Maternity Who We Are:
Elliot Hospital’s Women’s and Children’sServices are dedicated to addressing the specific health andwellness needs of women and their children. Our Maternity unit is a24-26 bed unit averaging 14 mother/baby patients with 55 employees.
Patients are high and low risk postpartum mom & babies 35 weeksgestation and above, substance-exposed infants, management ofhyperbilirubinemia and hypoglycemia in the newborn, as well as postgynecological surgery. About the
Job:
The Registered Nurse onMaternity cares for high and low risk postpartum mom and babies for2-3 nights following birth (2 nights for vaginal and 3 nights forcesarean).
What You’ll Do:
- Embraces and promotes change tosupport optimal patient outcomes and an effective professionalpractice environment.
- Involves patient/family in goal setting andplanning, and communicates that plan of care to patient and familyfor input; and to colleagues to ensure seamless care across shiftsand settings.
- Utilizes current evidence and relevantnational/specialty standards to guide practice and/or performanceand identifies areas for improvement.
- Demonstrates competentclinical practice utilizing clinical decision making and criticalthinking skills.
Who You Are:
- Graduate of an accredited school ofnursing (ASN or BSN
- BSN preferred)
- Current New Hampshire,compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required
- Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period andmaintain during employment
- ACLS preferred
